Rising to the Challenge: Meet the Women at the Heart of Comcast Business’ Beltway Region, Part 3

Over the past few months, we have spotlighted some of the incredible women of Comcast Business. We featured Angela Lee and Tiffany Mondillo, as well as Holli Lloyd and Dee Moyano, who have all balanced their careers, teams and families with support from Comcast’s flexible work options and benefits.

Now we’re proud to feature two more Comcast Business employees from the area, whose stories demonstrate the power of resilience and the importance of flexibility.

Dawn Dieter, Field Sales Manager, Baltimore, MD

Dawn, who will celebrate 25 years with Comcast in February 2022, currently serves as a field sales manager for the Capital area in the company’s Beltway Region.

When asked about her proudest accomplishment with Comcast, she cites her “adaptability and longevity at the company.” She adds, “my career trajectory has been broad horizontally rather than upward vertically, which I love because I’ve touched so many aspects of the business,” and is quick to point out her “amazing opportunities” and ability to work with extraordinary people at Comcast.

Regarding her career accomplishments and professional success, she mentions the work she has done on a global logistics center project as a “labor of love.” For this project, she was able to meet multiple deliverable timelines for construction and sales connectivity for tenants. She also used social media to stay connected and provide updates to the community.

Dawn attributes her strong work ethic to her parents and how she was raised. She proudly acknowledges her “blue-collar work ethic,” mentioning that her father was orphaned at the age of eight and had to drop out of high school to work at the Bethlehem Steel plant – which coincidentally is the site of the aforementioned logistics center project today – to earn money for his family. Dawn recognizes the lack of advantages her parents were provided growing up during the Depression era and is grateful for the opportunities she has had at Comcast.

Reflecting on her work experiences during the past two years, Dawn acknowledges her confidence in Comcast Business’ leadership and says, “I can’t compliment the leadership enough on their responsiveness.” She appreciates the company’s continued flexibility and resources provided to employees and looks forward to the year ahead and even more face-to-face interaction with colleagues.

Judith Hanzsche, Marketing Specialist, Baltimore, MD

Judith began her Comcast career in 2014 as an executive assistant to her region’s top executive overseeing Comcast Business and has worked her way through the ranks to become a Comcast Business marketing specialist. Her biggest accomplishment with Comcast was being selected as a 2018 nominee for an award recognizing top performers.

Judith’s colleagues describe her as “dedicated to the team” and “very supportive.” Even when faced with the challenges of the past two years, she found ways to maintain personal interaction virtually. Knowing how critical this interaction is, Judith advises, “the most important thing to remember to do is call and talk to people and get away from always sending an email and hiding behind a keyboard.”

Despite the impact the pandemic has had on in-person meetings and events, Judith has found creative ways to connect with customers and prospects. For instance, she explored engaging virtual opportunities and found ways to maintain collaboration with sales teams to solicit direct feedback and continue supporting their efforts.

As a mom of two, Judith spends much of her time outside of work balancing her son’s soccer and daughter’s competitive cheer schedules. She is very appreciative of her Comcast Business colleagues, who understand the occasional struggles of balancing work and family needs. Judith added, “I’ve been in meetings when my 10-year-old daughter has popped on the screen. As much as you try to avoid that, it’s just inevitable that it’s going to happen. It made me feel so much better knowing that my colleagues understood the situation and didn’t see it as unprofessional.”

Dawn and Judith are just two of the employees at the heart of Comcast Business’ Beltway Region. Stay tuned for more profiles featuring the exceptional women who make up our workforce at https://beltway.comcast.com/.
