UPDATE [October 1, 2024 – 11:45 AM]: The area has now been declared safe and we have been granted underground access. Our crews are making repairs to our network to restore services as quickly and safely as possible. To help everyone stay connected, Xfinity WiFi Hotspots remain open to the public.
To help Baltimore City residents and businesses stay connected following a manhole fire that damaged our network yesterday, Comcast opened public Xfinity WiFi hotspots in the area. The free, public hotspots are open for anyone to use, including non-Xfinity customers.
Due to the fire damage, Comcast crews do not have access to the area where our damaged underground fiber is located. We are coordinating closely with Baltimore City and BGE and once we are granted access, we will work to repair our fiber and restore services as quickly and safely as possible.
