Our Voices: Meet Ara, Manager of Product Sales Support and Analysis with Comcast Business
ARA’S MANTRA: “It’s not what you say, it’s how you say it.” – Albert Mehrabian
Meet Ara, a Manager of Product Sales Support and Analysis with Comcast Business who has been with the organization for ten years. We asked Ara to share more about her role as a Comcast Business sales support professional.
Tell us about your typical day-to-day.
The first thing I do every day is have a cup of coffee and meditate. My main responsibility as a Manager of Product Sales Support and Analysis is to train new employees on our Comcast Business product suite. It’s my job to make sure our team is well-equipped with the latest process knowledge so that they can help identify and provide ideal support for the sales teams.
What are the skills that are most critical to be successful in this role?
Organization, communication, decisiveness, trustworthiness and the ability to empower others. My hack for success is my calendar – I’d be lost without it. I also live by my to-do list – the more I can check off my list, the better I feel.
What has been the key to your success as a woman in sales?
I grew up with a father in the military and he taught us that in order to achieve great things, you must do great things and that hard work will often outpace desires. I’ve approached every role with that mindset. I’ve always wanted to be the best at whatever position I’m in and that means I go above and beyond to make sure I’m knowledgeable. I’m also not afraid to speak my mind when I have ideas, and most importantly I continue to make my professional development a priority.
Why do you love working at Comcast?
The people are exceptional – their expertise, values and support are what fuels me every day. The work-life-balance is also important. My family and I enjoy having dinner together every night and we’ve recently been spending a lot of time at the local gym, so Comcast’s family-first culture is amazing. We also have great benefits and perks!
What advice would you give to someone looking to do this job?
Trust yourself and your abilities, don’t be afraid to put yourself out there, prioritize your development and own your career.
