Our Voices: Meet Natalie, Assistant Store Manager in Alexandria, Virginia
NATALIE’S MANTRA: Ponte Las Pilas
Meet Natalie, an Assistant Store Manager in Alexandria, Virginia who has been with the organization for more than five years. We asked Natalie to share more about her role as an Xfinity sales professional.
Tell us about your typical day.
I start my mornings with a nice cup of coffee and check my emails before I start planning for the day. As an Assistant Store Manager, most of my time is spent at the store making sure everything is in order, while checking in with my team that they’re equipped with the knowledge and tools they need to help our customers as soon as they walk in. One of my favorite parts of the job is chatting with our repeat customers who trust our expertise to keep them connected to the things they love most. Alexandria is a tight-knit city and members of the community support and care for each other in a lot of ways. Our job is to make sure we’re ready to discuss our products and services such as Xfinity Mobile or NOW TV, and leave our customers with a positive and memorable experience. I like to end the day with a team check-in to celebrate the wins and address any areas of opportunity.
What skills are most critical to be successful in this role?
Communication, organization, adaptability and time management are essential for success in this role. I’ve been told I have the gift of gab, and it’s true. I love connecting with people, which helps me in my role as a leader to ensure every customer who walks through the door has an excellent experience. Organization is key to ensure the store is in top shape and my teammates know their responsibilities so that every day runs smoothly.
What has been the key to your success as a woman in sales?
I’m extremely driven by my life experience. I’m a second-generation Mexican American, and my parents worked so hard to create a prosperous life for my siblings and me. Their example has played a huge role in my overall success. I’m now able to provide for my family, which is extremely rewarding. I’ve also been around a lot of women who have faced hardship and have had the grit and strong work ethic to come out on the other side stronger. That kind of resilience would inspire anyone.
Why do you love working at Comcast?
Comcast took a chance on me at 18 years old when all I had to offer was ambition. They saw something in me all those years ago and continue to encourage and support my career growth to this day. I’m proud to work for a company that truly cares about its people.
What advice would you give to someone looking to do this job?
Take advantage of the opportunities that come your way, network and be excited about what you do!
