As Tropical Storm Debby heads up the East Coast, forecasters anticipate the storm will bring heavy rains and chances of flooding in parts of our region – including Delaware, Maryland, Virginia and Washington, DC.
What we’re doing:
- Preparing crews across the region to respond to power outages or other service interruptions to our network.
- Stocked our trucks and positioned equipment like generators in locations where severe conditions are expected, as Xfinity and Comcast Business services may be interrupted in the event of power outages.
- Increased our technical operations team and they are ready to go out into neighborhoods, as soon as it is safe, to address any damage.
- Our response teams are actively analyzing weather reports, putting our emergency plans in place and ensuring our crews and supplies are ready to be safely deployed.
What you can do:
- Download our Xfinity and Comcast Business apps to manage and check your services, chat online with Customer Care representatives, stay entertained and more.
- Continue to get alerts about your account throughout any severe weather by registering your phone to get text alerts. Visit Xfinity.com or this link to learn more.
- For Xfinity Internet, Comcast Business Internet or Internet Essentials customers, you can access one of our Xfinity WiFi hotspots to connect to the Internet. Just look for the “xfinitywifi” or “XFINITY” SSID and login with your credentials when prompted.
What happens if your power goes out: The Internet needs power to work. Commercial power to our network as well as local power to your home must be restored before our technicians can start repairs. If you have power back but not your Xfinity or Comcast Business services, we recommend restarting or resetting devices, including wireless gateways, modems, routers and cable boxes.
