PRINCESS’ MANTRA: “She believed she could, so she did.” – R.S. Grey
Meet Princess, a Strategic Enterprise Account Manager with Comcast Business who has been with the organization for more than seven years. We asked Princess to share more about her role as a Comcast Business enterprise sales professional.
Tell us about your typical day-to-day.
I start my day by checking my calendar for meetings, tasks and reminders I’ve set for myself. The key to success is having a strategic action plan – I focus on what customer contract renewals are in the pipeline, which customer orders need to be processed, and research businesses that may be in need of new products and services like Comcast Business Mobile or Comcast Business SecurityEdge. My sales hack is digital note-taking apps – I swear by these tools and often refer to mine as the “sales bible.” It has helped me be consistent with the 100+ businesses that I support – I’d be lost without it!
What are the skills that are most critical to be successful in this role?
Organization, communication, the ability to multitask, accountability and being a team player. I’m so proud to support all my customer clients and their businesses, but it requires organization and holding yourself accountable. In addition, the ability to communicate with – and listen to – your clients to understand their needs is also incredibly important. Lastly, having a team player mindset will help you tremendously. We rely on each other for advice, best practices and motivation.
What has been the key to your success as a woman in sales?
I set expectations for myself to be the most knowledgeable, confident, reliable and proactive member on my team. I have found great success in keeping my word with my customers; the same way I commit to myself, I commit to them.
Why do you love working at Comcast?
Career growth. Naturally, in sales, most of us have lots of ambition. I’ve been able to hold multiple roles at Comcast and within each role I’ve been able to take on more responsibility, which has always set me up for the next level. I also appreciate my leadership’s understanding of work-life balance. I’m an avid traveler and Comcast has not only provided me with the finances to be able to do that, but also the time and flexibility to live out my passion. And finally, the leadership and culture are second to none. Comcast is invested in my career, and my team is eager and happy to support my endeavors.
What advice would you give to someone looking to do this job?
You get out what you put into this career. Figure out your “why” and let that drive you – everything I’ve set out to do, I’ve been able to accomplish.
