Comcast and Make-A-Wish Connect Maryland’s JJ to What He Loves Most

Connecting people to the things they love most is at the heart of our mission, which is why we are so excited to help JJ, a 17-year-old from Earlville, MD.

JJ was recently featured in a story from Make-A-Wish Mid-Atlantic highlighting his journey recovering from a liver transplant caused by Cystic Fibrosis. During his time in the hospital, online gaming was an outlet for JJ that he says provided joy when he needed it most.

However, when he returned home from the hospital to Maryland’s Eastern Shore, his satellite Internet service did not deliver the speeds or reliability needed for online gaming.

Comcast was thrilled to step in and connect JJ’s family to the Xfinity 10G Network. Along with reliable, high-speed Internet, we surprised JJ with a new gaming system and a selection of the latest games, a wireless headset and a new laptop.

JJ’s courage is so inspiring, and his story continues to touch our hearts,” said Misty Allen, Vice President of Community Impact for Comcast’s Beltway Region. “We know fast, reliable Internet will keep JJ connected to the people and games he loves most. That’s our mission in a nutshell, and we’re so happy to see him happy.”
