Blue Collar Scholar Landscapes agrees technology is a contributor to business growth after implementing Comcast Business SmartOffice
Blue Collar Scholar Landscapes, a Bethesda-based landscape development company, has deployed Comcast Business SmartOffice™ to support its self-monitoring needs. As a result, the company has improved efficiencies in operations with an extra “eye” on its landscaping lot, so it can focus on gaining a competitive edge over competitors and how to better position to accelerate growth.
With plans to expand soon, Blue Collar Scholar Landscapes has grown from a small landscaping company to a $7 million enterprise in just over six years. Today, the company helps transform the outsides of homes and businesses through services like concrete paving, fencing, lawn maintenance, landscaping and more for clients across the Greater Washington, D.C., metropolitan area.
As Blue Collar Scholar Landscapes’ business quickly grew, so did its needs for monitoring and technology. Last year, tens of thousands of dollars’ worth of equipment was stolen from the company’s main location. Founder and CEO Sam Forline knew he needed to quickly implement a solution to help avoid similar instances from happening again.
“Following the devastating robbery in 2020, we needed technology to keep an eye on our business. While the cameras provide an extra eye on our landscaping lots, they also have given me the peace of mind that, as a business owner, helps me to sleep at night,” said Forline. “I am extremely grateful to the Comcast Business team for its support, responsiveness and recommendations every step of the way.”
Blue Collar Scholars selected Comcast Business to help keep the company connected while also keeping an eye on expensive equipment – all while being backed by the support of Comcast Business’ reliable network. Comcast Business was able to quickly complete the install and provide a discount on the installation charge. Blue Collar Scholars now relies on SmartOffice’s internet-powered cameras to monitor property and landscape equipment around the clock, from any location and using multiple devices.
The Comcast Business technology addresses Blue Collar Scholars’ current needs, as well as those for the future as it plans to expand to future sites. The landscape development company currently has multiple cameras for video monitoring and will install more cameras when it opens future locations.
“Our support for Blue Collar Scholars demonstrates our desire to help the company drive future business growth. We are proud to stand by its side as it looks to leverage technology that helps bolster its operations and improves efficiencies,” said Dan Carr, senior vice president of Comcast Business Services for Comcast’s Beltway Region, which includes Maryland, Virginia, Washington, D.C., and parts of Delaware, North Carolina and West Virginia. “With every customer we work with, Comcast Business aims to be a true partner, not just a technology provider. We are pleased to provide the Blue Collar Scholars team with peace of mind and confidence, so it can focus on its business and customers without missing a beat.”
