Let Comcast Business Keep You Connected When Storms Strike

As we continue through the storm season, more severe weather and power outages lay ahead. To help with this, Comcast Business technicians are committed to keeping your business up and running by quickly restoring service when the power goes out.

In the event of a storm or severe weather, your Comcast Business service may be affected. Here is what you can expect and how Comcast Business will help:

Internet Service

If you experience a loss of service, your local utility provider must restore power before our technicians can start restoring your services. We’ll get you back up and running as soon as possible. Once your power has been restored, reboot your modem to reestablish your connection.

If you are experiencing Internet issues and you currently have electricity, you can access the Comcast Business Internet Support Tool from My Account. Sign in to troubleshoot and reboot your modem from your desktop or mobile device. During an outage, also remember that you can stay connected with Xfinity WiFi hotspots.

Phone Service

To help avoid missed calls during an outage, you can remotely configure call forwarding through My Account or the Comcast Business App. Remember to also keep a corded landline phone on hand to dial 9-1-1 in an emergency.

Comcast Business Voice and Voice Mobility customers are provided with a backup battery, which offers up to five hours of talk. To help keep your business connected, make sure your backup battery is working.

Since Comcast Business VoiceEdge customers’ services are hosted in the cloud, Automated Attendants and voicemail features may continue to work during an outage. If you lose power, your phones won’t ring and you’ll be unable to make calls. Turn your personal phone into your work phone by downloading the Comcast Business App.

With our PRI service, you also have the option to use the Destination Unreachable and Call Forwarding Not Reachable features, which reroute incoming calls made to your trunk group to an alternate destination. With our SIP service, you can utilize Call Forwarding Not Reachable and Failover Forwarding to avoid any missed business calls. To activate these features, contact Customer Service.

TV Service

If you’re in an active outage that’s affecting your Comcast Business TV service, sign in to My Account or the Comcast Business App and enroll in text message notifications for real-time updates.
