Comcast Business today announced that its support of GeneDx, a subsidiary of BioReference Laboratories, Inc., an OPKO Health company, with increased broadband connectivity enabled their existing campus expansion to launch COVID-19 testing. Comcast Business installed a 300 Mbps internet circuit over the course of a single weekend, expanding the current broadband network to connect GeneDx’s expanded lab space.
“We are grateful for Comcast Business’ customer dedication during a time where everyone is burning the candle from both ends,” said Sean Hofherr, Ph.D., FACMG, Chief Scientific Officer and CLIA Laboratory Director of GeneDx. “Comcast Business responded immediately to GeneDx’s need to expand our broadband services, making it possible for us to bring up COVID-19 molecular testing in an incredibly short timeframe.”
GeneDx’s mission is to make clinical genetic testing available to patients and their families and Comcast Business has supported that mission since 2013.
