Next Tuesday, August 6, marks the 36th annual National Night Out — a community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live. This year, Comcast will participate in a local National Night Out event in the Orchard Ridge community in Baltimore from 5:00-8:00 p.m.

Millions of neighbors take part in National Night Out every year in thousands of communities from all 50 states, U.S. territories and military bases worldwide on the first Tuesday in August. These neighborhoods are dedicated to sharing safety information through demonstrations, seminars, youth events and by inviting emergency personnel to their local events.

National Night Out presents a great opportunity to remind our local communities how our Xfinity products and services can enhance the safety and security of our customer’s families and homes. Xfinity Home offers customers around-the-clock, total home security solutions giving customers access to the Xfinity Home platform via a mobile app or online portal, allowing them to stay connected to their home from anywhere. This platform gives customers the ability to arm and disarm their system, create automated rules, access video to see when kids got home or if pets are safe, turn on the lights and adjust the temperature. And, with  xFi Advanced Security, customers receive an added layer of protection for their entire home network by preventing the customer from inadvertently accessing malicious sites, blocking remote access to smart devices from unknown or dangerous sources and monitoring activity in real-time to detect when devices are behaving in unusual ways that could indicate a network threat.

Comcast’s National Night Out sponsorships continue to foster our relationships with neighbors and local law enforcement, while bringing back a true sense of community that aligns with our ongoing commitment to improving the quality of life in the communities where our customers and employees live and work.
