Comcast Business today announced that a family of Baltimore businesses – TCI Trucking, Import System International and Import Sterilization Inc. – has improved operations with the help of Comcast Business solutions.
The need for reliable internet service in the remote, industrial area around the Port of Baltimore led John Mendel, owner of all three import/export businesses, to Comcast Business.
“The internet is the backbone of our business,” said Mendel. “Our dispatch system, office applications, custom services, client communications are run over it. We require a service that has great reliability, accessibility and speed in order to operate smoothly.”
The companies implemented Comcast Business internet at 75 Megabits-per-second (Mbps) and Business Voice Edge, a unified communications solution providing a wide range of voice features and capabilities. These services allow the office manager, staff and remote workers to be connected to the main applications at all times.
“It has been smooth operations,” Mendel said. “The speed, reliability and customer service attention ensure that we are functioning efficiently, allowing us to grow our business.”
Comcast Business provides a range of communication solutions, from fast internet connections to phone and television bundles, to small business services. The company recently invested nearly $5 million in the expansion of its fiber-based network in Baltimore City, allowing more businesses like Mendel’s quick access to its fiber optic Ethernet network.
“Our goal is to assist the small business owner and help pave the way for their success through offering innovative, reliable technology services,” said Juan Dominguez, vice president of Comcast Business for Comcast’s Beltway Region. “By working closely with John Mendel, we have created a package of services that meets the needs for his businesses and positions each firm for greater growth.”
