Our employees are the drivers of our business’ success, and we’re proud of the great work they are doing for our company and our customers. Today, we meet Ashley Byars, a Washington, D.C. Technician Supervisor.
Ashley has been with Comcast for nearly seven years, starting as a technician and working her way to a supervisor role. For her, the role is about continuing to grow with the company and helping others grow as well. As she says in her video below, “I want to be part of the change that Comcast will continue to provide. I want to provide to others what was provided to me — support.”
Our technicians are at the frontline of our customer experience, and their job is never the same from one day to the next. But, Ashley doesn’t let the elements get in her way. She says, “once you get past the ‘I’m going to be in the elements; I don’t want to get dirty’, the job is fun.”
Ashley also says most people don’t picture a woman when they think of a cable technician, and she uses that as a driver — to not only tell these people she can do it, but show them. At Comcast, one of our top operating principles is diversity and inclusion (D&I). We believe that a diverse and inclusive company is a more effective company, leading us to approach diversity as a driver for business growth and innovation.
