Support for Baltimore’s Francis Scott Key Bridge Collapse

Our thoughts and hearts are with all Baltimoreans who were affected by the catastrophic collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge on March 26, 2024.

Comcast has a longstanding commitment to provide resources and support to communities during times of unexpected need, and will aid in the recovery and response to this tragedy in the following ways.

Comcast NBCUniversal Donates $100,000 to Support Emergency Response Funds

Comcast NBCUniversal joined the Maryland Tough Baltimore Strong Alliance, which was announced on April 5th by Maryland Governor Wes Moore, Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott, Baltimore County Executive Johnny Olszewski and Anne Arundel County Executive Steuart Pittman.

Through its participation in the Alliance, Comcast donated $100,000 split between the Baltimore Community Foundation and the Baltimore Civic Fund to support bridge workers, operations and the local economy. In addition, Comcast donated $5,000 to the Maryland Chamber of Commerce Foundation to support the Building Bridges to Recovery Coalition, which will serve as a centralized hub to better coordinate local bridge relief and recovery efforts.

Employee Matching Gift Program

Comcast employees have also been invited to join the response efforts by making donations, eligible for Comcast’s Matching Gift Program, to organizations like the Baltimore Community Foundation, the Baltimore Civic Fund or another local nonprofit of their choice. The program provides a 1:1 match for employee donations made to eligible nonprofit organizations up to $1,000 a year, and generated more than $6 million in donations in 2023.
