Comcast RISE is a multi-year, multi-faceted initiative launched in October 2020 to help strengthen Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC)-owned small businesses hard hit by COVID-19. Through the program, small business owners can apply for a variety of assistance including consulting, media and creative production services or technology makeovers.
One of our local recipients, Bianca Jackson, is the owner of Baltimore City’s BrickRose Exchange, which provides an event space and digital community where social impact entrepreneurs, community organizations and local residents can host cultural and other events. She shared five facts with us about her business and participation in the Comcast RISE program. Hear her story in the video below:
We also just announced that we will award 13,000 BIPOC-owned small businesses – including Hispanic- and Asian American-owned businesses among others – across the country with monetary grants, technology makeovers and marketing services from Comcast RISE by 2022. In addition, Comcast is partnering with Ureeka to provide recipients with business coaching and a specialized online networking community with access to educational resources, sources of capital and experts from U.S. Black Chambers, National Asian Pacific Islander Chamber of Commerce & Entrepreneurship, U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Association for Enterprise Opportunity, Walker’s Legacy and Operation Hope.
