At Comcast NBCUniversal, we celebrate the people, programs and partners who help us open opportunities across the country and drive positive change. Today, we look at our partnership with the Boys & Girls Clubs of America.
In the Beltway Region, we work closely with local Club chapters through technology and community-based projects, such as our My.Future Program, a technology initiative designed to teach Club members about our digital world and ignite their passion for technology, and Comcast Cares Day, the nation’s largest single-day corporate volunteer effort in the country, as well as provide Comcast Foundation grants.
Watch a recap of this year’s Comcast Cares Day project at the Boys & Girls Club of Westminster, MD:
Earlier this year, we partnered with NBC Sports Washington, United Way of the National Capital Area and Boys & Girls Clubs of the Greater Washington Area to host a “Fair Play: Youth Sports in America” sports clinic in Southeast D.C. where Club members spent an afternoon with Redskins Alumnus Santana Moss and NBC Sports Washington talent Travis Thomas and participated in a play activity and Q&A session.
And most recently, we partnered with NBC Sports to bring the Sunday Night Football Bus to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metropolitan Baltimore. Youth members enjoyed tours of the Bus and decorated footballs with their own flair and hometown and team spirit.
This nearly 20-year partnership is part of our overall corporate social responsibility strategy, and we are excited to continue working with the Boys & Girls Clubs of America and our local Club chapters to make a positive impact in our communities! Be on the lookout for more features on our partners.
