Join Comcast in Going Green!

As a company, we are committed to our corporate social responsibility, or CSR, and demonstrate this through our volunteer, sustainability and philanthropy efforts. When it comes to sustainability, we encourage all our employees to go green and practice those same models while on the job.

We have begun retrofitting our Xfinity trucks with fuel-saving technology and are in the process of installing electric vehicle (EV) charging stations for employees and guests, as well as purchasing EVs for select facilities our employees use.

Our company also recycles millions of pounds of coaxial cable per year. And speaking of recycling, we have implemented a recycling system throughout our office locations and are even working to reduce the amount of paper and plastic we use.

And, during Comcast Cares Day, the nation’s largest single-day corporate volunteer event, we encourage our employees to bring forward projects that help the environment, such as the cleanup of public parks, community centers, beaches and schools — our companywide goal is to dedicate at least 500,000 volunteer efforts to improving the environment by 2020.

So, if you’re like us, you’re always looking for new ways to do your part to help the environment. Here are a few tips on how to use Xfinity products and services to help you go green:

  • Reduce clutter and save stamps by switching to Eco-Bill: Paperless billing is an option that allows you to view and pay your bill online. Instead of a monthly paper bill, you will receive an email with your amount due and due date, along with a link to your Xfinity My Account online portal where you can view an exact replica of your bill statement.
  • Minimize electricity use with Power Saver on X1: We’ve introduced a power-saving feature of X1, a simple way for customers to “go green” and reduce wasted energy within the home. The power saver lets customers put their X1 box on standby to reduce power usage — to as low as a night light in some cases — without affecting important functions like recording shows or movies or watching them on other devices within the home.
  • Connect & control your in-home electrical devices whether at home or on the go: “Works with Xfinity” allows you to connect compatible devices to the Xfinity Home app for mobile devices and interact with the smart devices you use every day. Control your thermostat and lights at any time of day. Plus, LED light bulbs are available as a “Works with Xfinity” product — to help you save even more!

We hope you’ll join us in going green!
